This paper explores the impact of substance use and addiction on individuals and families, including contributing factors and implications for treatment. It reflects my understanding of addiction as a complex issue requiring evidence-based, compassionate, and client-centered care. This work informs my approach to supporting clients struggling with substance use and related challenges.
