Professional Identity

I am a trauma-informed counselor in training with a strong systemic and relational orientation. My clinical work is grounded in the belief that individual distress often emerges within relational and environmental contexts rather than in isolation. I conceptualize concerns through attachment-based and family systems frameworks, paying close attention to interactional patterns, emotional regulation strategies, and the ways protective responses develop within relationships.

Drawing from systemic, humanistic, and attachment-informed models, I seek to understand how clients’ current behaviors may reflect adaptive responses to past experiences. In couples and family work, I focus on identifying relational cycles, increasing emotional safety, and fostering new patterns of communication and connection.

My professional identity is shaped by extensive life experience, including long-term partnership, global living, and involvement in military-connected communities. These experiences have deepened my respect for resilience, cultural complexity, and the relational impact of stress and trauma. I strive to create a counseling space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported in developing insight, emotional regulation, and meaningful change both within and beyond the therapy room.
